END OF JUST THE BEGINNING.

University life is rightly said to be amazing and memorable of every student's life. It was the thought stuck in my head after receiving the long awaited calling letter to the Technical University of Mombasa, to pursue a Diploma in Mass communication. This was in August 2020, the year with a unique challenge, the global menace of Covid 19/ Corona virus. With the new norm of county lock downs and strict social distancing in the wake of growing waves, it was impossible to join campus then, and was forced wait till January of 2021.

The first semester at university for a new student can be an important, monumental and vital step in life because this is the platform which one can make life amazing. It comes with a period to transit into the new cycle of further studies. The first week came with it's fair share of challenges, thus to understand the daily routine in regard to when, where and how lecture sessions are conducted. Also when to explore interest and participate in other activities and socialize as much as possible, as all these things help in the overall development of a person.

College life is not only about the study but also about the overall development of an individual through various activities and challenges. Instances where I was challenged to task was in individual and group projects, and also during my industrial attachment at Baraka FM. In both instances, I was privileged to learn how to break complex tasks into parts and steps, plan and manage time well, refine understanding through discussion and explanation, give and receive feedback on performance, challenge assumptions and last but not least how to develop stronger communication skills.

Now in the final semester of my diploma course in journalism, it's about looking forward to graduation day and the life ahead. Campus period has been remarkable and essential time in my life, that I've enjoyed. It has been a chance to learn many things and builds my confidence to face the challengeges and struggles in the near future.
